Howdy folks! Thanks for stopping by! I’ve got a very busy summer coming up. I’m playing with two great bands, Brush Creek and Grand Ole' Ditch. I'm performing a solo act featuring multiple instruments and a great variety of instrumental and vocal tunes that is a good fit for all kinds of events. In addition I'm teaching both fiddle and mandolin. For more information about lessons or events visit the Lessons Page or contact me.
Brush Creek is a great group of local musicians. We play in a traditional fashion, but go outside the box a bit and explore some not so traditional material. I love that I get the opportunity to play both mando and fiddle with these folks. Marsha Kirker-Bozich (bass), John Larimer (dobro, guitar), Brad Foust (guitar), and Tim Custer (banjo) are not just great friends and musicians, they have been and continue to be mentors. It is a great privilege to be part of this band. We’re making some great music. Check out the Gigs Page and come on out and give us a listen and a handshake. Go to the Video page for a preview of what you’re in for, in addition to enjoying the outdoors and some fun in the sun.
Grand Ole' Ditch
The name Grand Ole’ Ditch comes from a local name for the C&O Canal, which played a big part in the history of Cumberland, MD, the home base of the band. I met these guys at the Brown Hotel in Indiana, PA in early 2014. I started playing a few gigs with them here and there. That has turned into a full time position with the band. We are not a traditional Bluegrass band, but don’t let that keep you away. Through a great variety of original tunes and some covers, we explore aspects of traditional, jazz, and rock music, on plugged in traditional instruments. I’ve been electrified and I like it. Jody Mosser (dobro), Craig Miller (banjo), Lucas Matthews (mando), Jacob Matthews (bass), Ryan Hohing (guitar), and Todd Hocherl (drums) are all super talented musicians dedicated to their art. I love playing and creating with them. Check out our upcoming gigs on the Gigs Page and get a preview of our music on the video page. Come on out and check out a show (or all of them). We’d love to get to know every one of you!
